A Person of integrity being particular about collection / Ban'ura, Shogo (1901 to 1982). Followings are short summary of his career. Won a prize at the Japan Art Academy Exhibition (Teiten) 1930. Not sure English title, Meiyo sho /??? At Exposition internationale des Arts et Techniques dans la vie moderne, Expo 1937. Shogo was active mainly in the Japan Fine Art Exhibition and was also appointed to a jury. Won his work, peinture en laque??

, at Prix de l'Academie japonaise des arts in 1963. Kyoto city Person of Cultural Merits in 1974. Received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette in 1981. One of his representative works, Hama chidori tebuko /??? (lacquerware box) released in 1980.

Isted tea caddy title is same Hamachi dori, so product year might be around 1980. He passed away at October 15th 1982 and listing tea caddy is not his last work. This is in an Excellent condition with signed Wooden box. This piece of measures: 3.110 inched (7.9 cm) in diameter. 3.268 inched (8.3 cm) in height.
